About Us
We Believe Every Young Person Deserves a Real Chance.
Dunamis Diversion Transitional Program is a Minnesota-based nonprofit walking alongside justice-involved and foster care youth — not just through the system, but beyond it.
Our Story
Born From a Belief That the System Can Do Better.
"Dunamis" — the Greek word for power, strength, and ability. The power was always theirs.
Dunamis Diversion was founded on a simple but radical conviction: that the moment a young person enters the justice or foster care system is not the end of their story — it is the beginning of the plan to write a better one.
Too many programs wait until a young person is about to leave before asking what comes next. We start that conversation on day one. We call it our "exit at entry" philosophy — and it changes everything about how we show up for youth.
The name Dunamis comes from the Greek word for power, strength, and ability. It is the same word used in 1 Timothy 4:12 — a reminder that youth are not defined by their circumstances, but by the strength they carry within them. Our role is to help them find it, build on it, and use it.
Founded and led by Moi, Dunamis Diversion grew from years of direct experience working alongside youth in the justice and foster care systems — and a deep frustration with programs that treated young people as problems to be managed rather than people to be equipped.
Our Philosophy
Exit at Entry: Planning the Way Out From the Moment They Walk In.
Most transitional programs are reactive. A young person reaches the end of their sentence or placement, and only then does anyone ask: where will you live? What will you do? Who will support you?
At Dunamis Diversion, we flip that model entirely. From the first point of contact — whether that is a diversion referral, a court order, or a foster care placement — we are already building the reentry plan. Housing, education, employment, family connections, mental health support: all of it starts on day one.
This is not just a philosophy. It is a structured, 18–24 month journey through six stages, each one building on the last, each one moving the young person closer to a stable, self-directed life.

Outcome Indicators
Mission, Vision & Values
Equipping youth with the strengths, skills, and support to rise above their circumstances and thrive.
A generation of youth restored, equipped, and in control of their future.
Hope & Dignity
Every young person is seen, valued, and treated with the dignity they deserve — regardless of what brought them to us.
Empowerment & Equity
We address systemic barriers head-on and build the skills, confidence, and resources young people need to thrive on their own terms.
Respect
We meet youth where they are, listen before we speak, and honour their lived experience as the foundation of everything we do.
Accountability
We hold ourselves to the highest standard — measuring outcomes, learning from results, and being transparent with the communities we serve.
Theoretical Foundations
Grounded in Evidence. Guided by Experience.
Our model is not built on good intentions alone. It is grounded in evidence-based frameworks that have been proven to support positive outcomes for justice-involved and foster care youth.
Trauma-Informed Care
Recognising that most youth in our program have experienced significant trauma, every interaction is designed to be safe, predictable, and empowering.
Strengths-Based Practice
We start with what a young person can do, not what they cannot. Every plan is built on their existing strengths, interests, and goals.
Restorative Justice
Healing harm, rebuilding relationships, and restoring community — not through punishment, but through accountability and repair.
Positive Youth Development
Young people thrive when they are given real responsibility, genuine relationships, and meaningful opportunities. We build all three into every stage.
Cultural Responsiveness
We honour the cultural identities of every young person we serve, and actively work to dismantle the systemic inequities that brought them to us.
Family & Community Engagement
Lasting change happens in the context of relationships. We work to strengthen family connections and build community ties at every stage.
Our Founder
"Too many young people are thrown away as if they don't matter, and that they have nothing to give to society. Every young person at Dunamis will know — they have value, their voice matters, and they have a lot to give, they need help to find it."
Moi Boudoir
CEO & Founder
Moi Boudoir is the youngest of nine children, raised in poverty in North Minneapolis by a mother who carried her family with everything she had. He grew up navigating two worlds at once — the streets and the workforce — a gang member who always held a job, a young man who became a father three times before he turned eighteen and a general manager by nineteen. He broke the generational curse of abandonment in his own family, and he is building an organisation to help an entire generation break it too.
In 2004, in the middle of his mentoring work, Moi was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. By 2008 the disease had taken nearly everything — for three years he was bedridden. In the depth of that season, he chose to live. When he was strong enough, he went back to school. In 2018 Moi graduated with a degree in Child Welfare Social Worker, and has since served as the Minnesota Department Education Title I, Part D State Coordinator overseeing Specialist for six years.
Thirteen years of mentoring. A childhood in poverty. The streets. A death threat. A disease that tried to take everything. A calling that outlasted all of it. Moi Boudoir founded Dunamis because he is not guessing about what these young people are carrying — he has lived it.
